Young people are leading the way with social innovation

Across the country, young Indigenous people are making waves and creating valuable social change. Whether it’s leading environmental movements, being role models for other young people, creating companies that give back to the community or leveling the playing field for Indigenous populations, there are endless ways in which millennials are working hard to make the next generation better for everyone.

Shelagh Rogers of CBC Radio interviewed two prominent young Indigenous leaders at the NAFC’s Indigenous Innovation Summit last fall. Michael Redhead Champagne, founder of the Aboriginal Youth Opportunities movement and Jeff Ward of Animikii are two young entrepreneurs who are using their talents to educate and empower communities to engage in social justice and a better world.
