The latest REDx Talks event coincided with the June 2nd TRC anniversary

The latest edition of the REDx Talks speaker series took place in Calgary on June 2, the one-year anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's release of its 94 calls to action.

REDx Talks events express and embody Indigenous worldviews from elders, teachers, youth and allies in cities across Canada, and are also aimed at celebrating Indigenous accomplishments and dispelling myths about Indigenous people.

The talks have featured notable Indigenous personalities from across the country and from a wide range of disciplines. In the past, they’ve welcomed Ashley Callingbull, Roseanne Supernault, Khelsilem, Chris Hsiung, among many others, to the REDx stage.

The event in Calgary followed the theme of “Truth, Reconciliation and the Future” and featured Dr. Marie Wilson, commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; Melina Laboucan-Massimo, a climate and solar energy activist; comedian and environmentalist Dallas Goldtooth; and Erica Violet Lee, an Indigenous feminist activist and writer, to name a few.
