Mental health is a serious problem. 10-20% of Canadian youth are affected by a mental illness or disorder but only 1 out of every 5 people who need mental health services get them. Below are five apps to track moods, find positive things to do and help you get through tough times.

Booster Buddy

BoosterBuddy is a free app to help teens and young adults improve mental health. You get a sidekick who guides you through daily quests that establish positive habits to earn achievements.

On the app, you can track your moods, learn to cope, keep track of appointments and more.

Pacifica

Pacifica is designed as a daily tool to help people address stress and anxiety at a slow pace. It focuses on tracking moods, relaxation and wellness to break the anxiety cycle.

PTSD Coach

PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Many Aboriginal people suffer from PTSD because of loss of culture, intergenerational effects of Residential Schools, and racism.

The app gives reliable information on PTSD and treatments, tools for tracking symptoms, ways to help handle stress and links to more support.

Relax Melodies

Are you ever so stressed out that you can’t sleep? Being stressed out and not sleeping are seriously unhealthy. Relax Melodies is a sleep aid app. It has over 50 sounds and tunes that you can mix together to make your own custom song. It also has tips on sleeping better.
