New music video made by elementary schools students promotes tolerance

Elementary students from the Pierre Elliott Trudeau school in Gatineau have made something pretty special.

They’re featured — singing, rapping and playing violin — in a new music video N’we Jinan’s song ‘Important to Us.’ N’we Jinan is a music initiative that gives a voice to First Nations artists.

The music video hit the web on October 27 and has been shared widely. The song talks about tolerance and respect, with all of the lyrics coming from the students themselves, and includes a chorus with words in English, French, Cree and Algonquin.
