Enter-Tribal, the duo of JB the First Lady and Chief Rock, are raising awareness about the issue of missing and murdered aboriginal women.

The two have recorded a song called Sisterz and have a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to shoot a music video for the song. For the video, they want to travel across Canada to shoot it and, according to the GoFundMe site, “showcase the epidemic that is hitting every major city and small town across the country.”

They’re teaming up with “Butterflies in Spirit,” a group of dancers from Vancouver who are family members of Indigenous women who’ve gone missing, in the music video.

The duo wrote and recorded the song in one hour and it was an emotional experience.

“All these lyrics kept pouring out of me, they wouldn’t stop. I got my pen and started writing everything down. Songs happen like this once and a while, but never quite like this,” Sino General, aka Chief Rock, told APTN.

Sisterz is on Enter-Tribal’s album Indigenized: Hitting the Trail. Hear a preview of the song here
