J.Lo dons Belcourt inspired outfit

This week pop star Jennifer Lopez was spotted rocking a Valentino two-piece with Christi Belcourt’s iconic floral designs.

According to reports online, Lopez donned the outfit for her music video El Mismo Sol. The scene with the Valentino piece features the pop star riding a carousel and looking pretty fierce.

Valentino approached the Métis artist earlier this year about the collaboration. Belcourt said she was hesitant at first, and had to do some research of the company. Eventually, though, she was comfortable with the partnership and it turned into a beautiful collaboration.

"It's a really neat kind of thing to see that the beadwork that is from my tradition I took and put on canvas and then it's gone back on the clothing, So that's kind of a nice relationship there,” she told the CBC.

As this CBC story points out, Belcourt is no stranger to collaboration. Her work is featured in an art installation for Walking with Our Sisters and she designed the medals for the Pan Am Games held in Toronto this summer.
