Video honouring MMIW goes viral

Watch a group of boys from Barriere Lake drum and sing to honour missing and murdered Indigenous women

There's nothing like the beat of the drum. Combine that sound, like a heartbeat, with five Indigenous youth honouring lost sisters and mothers and cousins and grandmothers, put it on the internet, and watch the good vibes spread like wildfire on the web. 

Recorded by Sonny Papatie and his cousin Daniel, the video of five boys from Barriere Lake honouring missing and murdered Indigenous women, had been a hit on Facebook, with almost 2,000 likes and about 6,700 shares. And the comments on the posted video are touching — people are thanking the boys for their song, talking about missing loved ones and showing gratitude.
